Workshops for Children

ROBERT DUNLAVEY INSPIRED ART

This workshop will focus on Dunlavey’s series titled Crystal Cities. He describes them as “whimsical explorations of the act of drawing and painting, line and color, atmosphere and narrative possibilities.” Students will use mixed media to make an imaginary city drawing of their own! Week one we will sketch out ideas, week two we will add color to our lines and some oil pastel, and week three we will add watercolor.



When: Three Tuesdays 10/28, 11/4, 11/18, 4-5pm (school is closed 11/11)

Who: Ages 6-8

Location: Atrium School in Watertown

MINI COMIC BOOK 

Come prepared to work quickly and small!! In the first class we will develop characters, and plan a story. Second class we will learn what components you need to make a successful comic book and start to draw it out. On our last day we will ink it. Comic book will be about 2.5” x 4.5”, and you can take the inking pen home!




When: Three Thursdays 10/30, 11/6, 11/13, 4-5:30 pm

Who: Children ages 8+
